My father has been at this residence for over four years. He has always received excellent care and services. Even during COVID and periods of isolation, the staff always did their best. He is now nearing the end of his life, and even then, everyone went above and beyond to provide him with well-being and comfort. My father used to own horses, and a photo of him on horseback is prominently displayed by his door. This week, the decision to transfer him to a hospital, as he wished, was made late Wednesday afternoon. In a gesture filled with love and compassion, the team brought in a horse in no time at all. What joy my father experienced being able to touch it, brush it, and feed it! He was able to spend over two hours in pure bliss thanks to the generosity of the entire team. A horse—quite a feat to bring joy to a man at the end of his life! Even the paramedics, upon their arrival, contributed to this wonderful moment of happiness for my father. A terrible experience! Each resident has to insure their room against fire, water damage, and vandalism. There's an endless list of things to buy (10 towels, 20 washcloths, 5 hand towels, 5 glasses, a waterproof mattress protector, 2 sets of bedding, etc.). The receptionist lied to us about the price. We were told it would cost $1614 for me, and after 3 months, they increased my mother's to $2172! I had to move her.
