I have a loved one living there since 2020. Il changes over time. Sometimes, the food is ok but lately it has been really bad even though the prices went up. They seem to have staffing problems. The services are not as good as they say. The communication with different instances is very difficult. When you need something, it can be hard to get to the right person. They don't go out of their way to help or smile. After 5 years, they updated the decor but they should to hire more staff instead. I'm not as pleased as I was in the beginning. The unit we rent is very expensive and the heating unit has never worked properly. They won't change it and blame the patient of playing with it... I'm tired of having to work hard to get the basic services we pay extra for my loved one. I compared it with public care (family in law) and the only real difference is the look of the building and apartments witch was helpful when we placed the person 5 years ago to convince them it would be good to move.
I had high hopes for this place after the initial meeting felt very promising. My 81 year old father with newly diagnosed Parkinson’s was admitted in October 2024 but from day 1 he had a very bad on-boarding and introduction. I specifically asked if they could communicate with him in English and arrange for him to be with English speaking residents for his meals, at least for the beginning, they said no problem but didn’t deliver on it. My father’s first day was very distressing for him as he could not communicate with staff and they ignored him when he asked them to speak with me, it went downhill from there. Staff coming in the room in the middle of the night and waking him up, poor hygiene procedure care from the staff, taking his meds away without explanation, someone even took his art supplies. Poor communication between staff. I finally requested to remove all the services as he could manage that well enough on his own. We said from the beginning we would try it for a month and we took him out after 5 weeks. I was there every 2 nd day so I saw how they operate and addressed issues. They charged us for the extra notice month and no one told us about a 30 day notice at any point, they expect you to read all the fine print. Very uncaring and unprofessional. I received 5 invoices with mistakes before settling on the final payment, I paid for a space that ended up empty for 3 wks, they didn’t have to enforce that and that was a poor leadership choice. This place is expensive and doesn’t live up to the hype.
