3.1 / 5Hello, I am a clsc worker for one of the clients at this retirement home and I just wanted to say that the staff is very amazing. The Service is very good. My client had a block bathtub And we called downstairs. The receptionist was very very nice and the maintenance guy responded very fast. I think his name was bernie he definitely knew what he was talking about. He definitely knew what he was doing. He was very respectful very good customer service At this retirement home
Not happy with this senior residence. The new chefs are terrible. Used to be Italian. Now it’s hospital quality meals. Yuk. The side door for groceries is either unlocked and always opened or cannot properly be used to hold open to bring in a shopping cart of groceries. Someone put a sharp, white videotron cable wire as a hook to hold the door open. Or sometimes people use cracked cement blocks to jam the door open. Not secure at all. One day they will have a home invasion thru this access door. Owners are super nice to signup new people, speaking Italian and offering amoretto candies to you etc but once living there, you realize it’s not the best place for our widowed mom. Avoid.
Les Jardins D’Italie – a safe and lively space for our Italian seniors to enjoy their golden years. Over the last number of years we have seen changes to ownership, management and building structure. In my view, the changes have always been welcomed as the end goal has always taken into consideration the wellbeing of the seniors. My mom has been a happy resident for 14 years now – on to celebrating her 96th birthday soon! Over the 14 years, has developed a great social group and takes advantage of the activities provided that interest her. She continues to enjoy her time mainly because of the friendships she has developed. As her daughter, I am grateful that I have peace of mind in her well-being. My mother plans on celebrating her 100th at this residence! I would like to thank Tania, the new director, and her team for their continued efforts in ensuring the well running of this residence. Tania, you arrived on site in a difficult time, just post Covid, and have had your hands full. We appreciate and thank you so much for all that you have done, plan to do and your commitment towards all our seniors. Best of luck and be sure to seek out our help where we can be of assistance. This truly should be a joint effort!
Text for review Les Jardins d’Italie is a beautiful residence . My mother-in-law is so happy living there. She tells my wife and I that the General Manager and her staff are human, kind, fun and patient. They keep the seniors busy with all their activities and the staff participated in their parties. The GM is at every party waiting tables, dancing with the residents and helps her staff to clean up afterwards. The only complaint we have is that my mother-in-law is too busy to see us. She’s always rushing off to an activity. It’s a definite improvement over what it was under previous administration.
The owners Selection Retraite is under bankruptcy protection. The managers have no experience in running a retirement residence. They manage it as an apartment building with a dining facility. Activities are very limited and poorly organized. There are almost no outings except for the weekly trip to the grocery stores paid by the stores owners. Management has blamed covid for almost everything but we keep reminding them, that this excuse is no longer valid. If the head office is run like this place it is not a surprise they have to use the law to protect themselves from their creditors...
