How can a family of an 88 year old woman pay 4k a month for the care of their loved one and they be able to leave without being seen by the staff supervising, and freeze outside to death? Horrible

After many visits and discussions at Provitalia Memory Care Unit at Villagia Ile Paton in Laval about their memory care facilities and the services they offer as advertised on their website we admitted my dad on May 16th, 2025 on the 2nd floor. After only 1 week we immediately noticed that my dad was a lot more agitated, confused and depressed, his behavioral change is due to the lack of interaction by the staff and nurses, at $ 7200/per month they barely no activities and mostly all patients are isolated in there room. They have no security system in place and they suggested we install a security system at our expense in order to secure his safety, a system that could benefit all patients on the floor and something they should have in place for people with cognitive issues like Alzheimer/Dementia. This residence is only interested in your money; they added extra services to our monthly rent without notification by the Director Melissa Coté Jacques. The director did not want to deal with difficult patients that needed more care and made all kinds of empty threats to our family so that we move him somewhere else. She also sent him to Sacre-Coeur Hospital because he was having a stroke but after extensive tests the doctor determined that he was physically fine and looked like he was over medicated but could not prove anything. On July 18 they once again called the ambulance and my dad was sent back to the hospital because they claimed he was very agitated and aggressive, not only did they call the ambulance but they called the police which the police officer called me to tell me that my dad was calm and it was my decision if he needed to go to the hospital, so I decided that he was to remain at the residence. Once the director learnt that I did not want to send my dad back to the hospital she called me and gave me no alternative and that he needed to go to the hospital because they could not handle his behavioral issues. Absolute worst experience for both the family and especially my dad had to go through, all we wanted was a place where my dad would be well taken care of and respected for the rest of his remaining years, we searched for months and months to find the perfect place that my dad deserved. Please do not put your loved one at Provitalia Villagia Ile Paton, Laval all they want is your money and patients that do not give them any trouble.
