2.8 / 5Very disappointing from the Cogir group… I visit my grandmother regularly, and for over a year, my family has been complaining about cigarette smells in her apartment, but nothing has changed. My grandmother has never smoked, and yet the smell of secondhand smoke is now a part of her daily life…
A lovely, quiet place for retirees. Organized activities include pétanque, gardening, and more. Occasionally, a small bus takes residents to nearby shops and businesses. I recommend it for those who can afford it.
There are not enough activities to keep the residence busy. Especially for the men. In the Cambridge(another Reseau Select) there are wood working classes, There is a bowling alley. There is a coffee shop where the residence gather and have coffee and sandwich or pastry and chat any time they want. The Vise Versa has a pool that is closed most of the time. There is a resident that actually will play his organ in the common area downstairs which the other residence love but that's it. My parents moved in when it opened and I found their health deteriorated from then. They were bored. They would sit in their apartment and watch TV. There was no bus to take them to mall to have something to do. My mom has since passed away and now there is a bus but it is not regular. The people there are bored, they need to ask the residence what needs to be done to make things better. I won't even get started on the meals if you cannot go down to eat. I will be here to long. All I will say is that I would not be surprised to hear of residents going without their meals then getting sicker because of it. Especially the ones that don't want to stir anything up. Which with my parents I stirred things up. My dad is now in the full care unit and there is nothing there for them either. They sit and look at each other waiting to die. The staff on the second floor are excellent. You could not ask for better but there is only so much they can do.
Does not meet expectations of a retirement complex for seniors. The administrator of the Vice Versa is not interested in working with the residents and even if this person smiles all the time you know nothing will get done - you are only being placated. The non service side and the service side DO NOT mingle at all - both sides are forbidden to cross over to the other side even though they share a middle complex (which the no -resident side cannot use the activity room). On the service side you get 1 meal a day and none on Sunday and it is disgusting. You play bingo Monday and Thursday night (if they can find someone to call the numbers). On my one hand I can count the activities held since June 2016. There are no organized trips or shoppIng ventures EVER. As prizes to an event once the residents received home made ketchup that was putrid. Another was paper doilies from the dollar store and the best one I witnessed was an eyeglass case that was empty. Many residents are fed up and at the end of their lease are moving out. They have issues with the elevators which are still not resolved. If you complain too much or ruffle feathers you get barred from entering the complex. A resident had to phone an ambulance and they could not come in because the buzzer to let them in did not work. If you try to talk to someone at Réseau Sélection to discuss the situation at Vice Versa you don't get any return phone calls. No matter how hard I try I cannot find anything good about the Vice Versa. You pay a lot of money for nothing you are even restricted as to when to use the pool. I know all of this because I'm an eye witness and I have a dear loved one residing at Vice Versa which is one of the worst mistakes we have ever done.
There is no service on either side. The people who run the 2 buildings are horrible. You have to go outside to go to the office. Too many breakage that take forever to be fixed. Ambulance could not even get in the building and security never answered. Bad place to live. Very small apartments too
