CHSLD Dante

My dad was a resident at CHSLD Dante for one year after suffering a stroke. He lived on the 4th floor. Overall, I was very happy with Dante. His care team was kind and attentive — Mary and Ines were both amazing nurses, and Tony was beyond kind with everyone. Whenever there was an issue, the team was quick to communicate and resolve it. There are plenty of organized activities, the food is excellent (especially for Italian residents), and the outdoor area is lovely for spending time outside. This place isn’t perfect, but many of the negative reviews are exaggerated. From my family’s experience, Dante truly provided good care and compassion.

Not helpful not friendly staff.

Dante chsld over medicated my relative. He was walking with his eyes closed and the staff would tie him down to a chair. They lied saying he was aggressive so they needed to tie him down. After they tied him down my relative was fighting to escape being tied down so he ended up falling backwards in the chair. Thus hitting his head on the cement floor requiring 4 stitches at the hospital. My relative was abused my these people working there. The staff is lazy and excuse is understaffed. My poor relative has Alzheimers. He can not defend himself. This facility should be shut down. Dr. Arafa was medicating my relative with adavan and sleeping meds. My relative had a cracked nose and nobody called police or his wife. His daughter noticed bruising on his nose and informed the staff and they were indifferent. My poor relative caught a urinary tract infection and had fever. The staff assumed it was Covid. Every time he went to the bathroom he would yell. And the staff would take it as being aggressive and add more medications. Instead when he was brought to the hospital on family demands the hospital ran some tests and found infection in his tract. His stomach was blocked and burn when he urinated. He had blood in his urine which went unnoticed by staff employees. We have never witnessed such incompetant people in our lives. It goes beyond our comprehension. We have PTSD from this experience with this facility. Mr Legault please run an investigation into this facility. My relative has since moved out of this place best thing that ever happened to him. Shame on you chsld Dante. Your staff should be fired and facility closed. The experience we had over a course of 5 months was a nightmare.
