The building, about fifteen years old, is currently undergoing renovations to modernize it. The dining room is not currently accessible, but meals can be delivered to your apartment with just as many choices as in the dining room. The staff quickly learns everyone's tastes and preferences; you don't feel like just a number, which makes it a very welcoming place to enjoy retirement.

The residence is very welcoming; the staff is courteous and helped our grandmother settle in after her arrival. In her previous apartment, she had tended to be alone for several years. She has made many wonderful friends since moving to La Croisée de l'Est and now enjoys participating in the activities and events.

Lack of Communication and Impact on Residents We wish to express our deep concern regarding the closure of the dining room at La Croisée de l’Est residence for a period of one month due to renovations. This information was communicated to residents on the day of the closure, Monday evening, without any visible or accessible prior notice. A message from management was supposed to be broadcast on the internal television, but it was not working, even after reception was notified of the problem. The message was still inaccessible on Monday. As a result, several residents arrived at the dining room to find it closed, without having received clear prior information. No signs or posters had been posted at reception or elsewhere in the residence to announce the closure and the temporary measures. This lack of effective communication has concrete consequences for a clientele that is predominantly elderly and often has limited mobility. Although meals are delivered to residents whose meal plan is included in their rent, those who do not have it must manage on their own—a particularly difficult task for many people in this situation. In our case, my 85-year-old mother, who has Alzheimer's disease, already lives with significant limitations. This type of situation further complicates our desire to allow her to remain in her home for as long as possible with dignity and safety. We understand that work may be necessary, but it would have been reasonable and respectful to inform residents and their families in advance and plan appropriate solutions. It is also regrettable that it is not possible to quickly communicate with management to express our concerns, as the director is absent and will not be taking messages until next week. We sincerely hope that concrete measures will be put in place to improve communication with residents and their loved ones and prevent a similar situation from recurring. Reliable, accessible, and timely information is essential for everyone's well-being and safety.

My grandmother is happier and more joyful since she moved to this residence vs. the old residence.

If you'd like to have dinner with a resident of this facility, expect to pay $25 per person. It's a decent meal, but dining with family is a luxury. There are no specials for children or group rates.
