CHSLD Michèle-Bohec

My mother, who has dementia, was at this facility for a year and a half and was often left alone with other residents, confined to the lounge, while all the staff were inaccessible in the office (like a closed aquarium). When the call bell rang in a room, it would ring for a long time before anyone answered. She received no services, has never walked since, and is now unable to do so. She rarely had physiotherapy or other treatments. Aside from the afternoon activities, she was left alone in the lounge... the staff were very kind, but the service was lacking. At this facility, patients had to adapt to the attendants and others, whereas at the Blainville long-term care facility, it's the opposite. The attendants adapt to the patients. Since she moved to the Blainville facility... wow, it's like night and day. Attendants are present in the lounge with them, etc., and they do everything they can to help her walk; the treatments are more humane. It's a shame that the semi-private facility has fewer services than the public one next door 🤷🏼‍♂️. I'm very glad she changed long-term care facilities, but it's a shame that she lost even more independence in just a year and a half while there. I often notified the appropriate authorities about the shortcomings so that improvements could be made. It's unfortunate that things don't change; luckily my father was very present and took care of everything.

There's an error in the directions. When you arrive at Exit 28, yes, you turn left onto Versailles Street, then left onto Notre-Dame Street, then right onto Michel-Bohec Boulevard, and about 100 meters further on, the CHSLD Michel Bohec is on the left. Please make the correction.
