CHSLD de Tracy

My father resided at the Tracy Residential Care Centre until his death. I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the empathetic and attentive care the staff provided. With some of them, I even felt as if he were their own father. Initially, my father, who suffered from Parkinson's disease and dementia, was placed in a double room due to a lack of available rooms. As he was on the priority list, he was offered a room in another facility. My mother, who was responsible for making decisions at the time, refused. She was so satisfied with the excellent services that she preferred he remain in a double room until a single room became available within the facility. We never regretted this decision. Every day, the staff helped him get dressed and took him to the common room. There were musical performances every week, bingo games, and other activities. Although my father sometimes experienced bouts of dementia, the staff were always incredibly patient with him. Words fail me to express my gratitude to the staff. Of course, we would have loved for his cognitive abilities to have allowed us to keep him at home. But that was impossible in his situation. Given the circumstances, I can simply say that I am grateful that chance placed our father in this care home and that he was able to spend his final days there.

A very bad experience, don't go. When you feel weak, they will cut off your food and water, and after a few hours you will die. This is the new policy of these doctors. So after 86 years you are likely to die if you are there. So stay in your home and eat properly with people who visit you and love you.

The staff was very attentive to their customers and that's what I like to see in CHSLDs.

On behalf of myself and my entire family, I would like to thank all the staff—doctors, nurses, caregivers, and orderlies—for your excellent care. During the many years my father resided there, I witnessed how well he was cared for by everyone. A very big thank you, and please continue your vital work.

My brother-in-law, Sylvain Toutant, passed away yesterday, January 21st. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the nurses of the Myosotis unit, who are like angels to me, helping us through this difficult time. I also want to mention the doctor who signed the death certificate, Dr. Marie-Eve Bergeron, who took the time to call us this afternoon to offer her condolences. What a beautiful and compassionate gesture. Thank you so much.
