Chartwell Monastère d'Aylmer

The staff at Chartwell Le Monastère in Aylmer have been wonderful. They’ve provided excellent service and care for my mother over the last eight years. Now that Mom has moved into the assisted living facility at Le Monastère, they have been so very helpful and supportive. I get answers to complex questions, advice and support from people who know what my mom and her children are going through. It makes all the difference.

My mother lived at the Monastere for 2 years until a room was available for her in the public sector. She resided on the 3rd floor of the St-Redemptoriste wing which is the dementia floor, my mom didn't have dementia but it was the only available room for her in the mean time. The staff working this floor are exceptionally hard workers, the kindest people, they work with their heart and always gave my mom exceptional care she needed. To Gerry, Chris, Suzette, Tara and many more, the nurses and also Lisa who runs this team, I am so ever grateful for your dedication in your work of taking care of the elderly. Keep up the good work you are the best of the best and we will miss you dearly. Thank you again for everything you have done for my mom in the time she was there. Kristine Perreault

My father recently moved to The Monastere, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the exceptional care and environment. From the moment Cathy gave us a tour, we felt at ease. She was not only professional and knowledgeable but also incredibly compassionate, answering all our questions and making us feel confident that this was the best place for my father. The Monastere feels like a home away from home. The facility is beautifully maintained, clean, and filled with cozy spaces where residents can relax or socialize. The attention to detail is remarkable, and the staff is nothing short of amazing. Every single person, from the nurses to the housekeeping staff, is warm, attentive, and genuinely cares about the well-being of the residents. The food is consistently excellent—fresh, delicious, and nutritious, with a wide variety of choices that cater to all tastes and dietary needs. My father often comments on how much he enjoys the meals, which says a lot. What truly sets Le Monastere apart is the sense of community. They offer engaging activities and events that make every day enjoyable for the residents, and the staff makes sure everyone feels included. There’s a real sense of family here, and the peace of mind we have knowing that my father is in such capable and caring hands is priceless. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will receive the best care, surrounded by kind people and a wonderful atmosphere, I highly recommend The Monastere.

The Monastere d'Aylmer is not only a beautiful building, but my father, Philippe, and I were greeted by warm, friendly staff, Cathy, Lisa and Omar as well as the chef's greeting in their dining room. Our visit was aimed at just having a walk through with no commitment, but my father was so impressed with the tour of available apartments to suit his budget, the considerate staff and the dining room experience, that he was determined to sign up for his apartment that same day. My father being French speaking and me being English was pleasantly accommodated by bilingual service. In between our appointments, and signing dad's lease, we were offered complimentary lunch. Later on in the afternoon, as dad choose to remain on the premises so that we could commit to his lease, random staff members who happened to be walking by at the time addressed in both languages with smiles and offers of a beverage and pleasant seating in the courtyard. Dad is excited about moving in! Small town ambiance with all the amenities of the city.

Excellent staff and care services! My mom has lived at Le Monastere for 6 years (she loves it!) and only recently required the ‘all inclusive care’ services for a period of time following a minor surgery. Sandra Kesar (care services coordinator) was outstanding! She met with us on short notice and had everything organized for my mom quickly and efficiently at an incredibly reasonable cost. She addressed all of my moms concerns in such a kind and respectful way…what a nice experience to have! In the end, my mom was set up to receive all the services provided on the third floor (full care level) but in the comfort of her independent room. Once my mom was back from the hospital, care was provided as expected and the staff were helpful and friendly. My mom was really pleased and felt well supported! We’re relieved to know how smoothly this will go as my mom ages and requires more care. Thank you Sandra and care team for your excellent care and support!
