Dementia is frightening for the person and their family. Our mom has been at CHSLD WIM since March 2025 and we are certain we made the right decision on choosing this incredible facility for our mom’s new home. Without hesitation, we can say that WIM is truly superior to the alternatives in the West Island, providing dementia care. A visit to CHSLD WIM will show the excellent, professional and loving care that we have witnessed during every visit. CHSLD WIM and the staff are caring, well-trained, compassionate and full of humor and good cheer. Our mom is in a safe environment, among friend which include the employees of WIM. Our mom, who has Alzheimer’s and lives in the moment, is very quiet, but we can tell that she is happy: She smiles when hearing or seeing her incredible caregivers (special mention to Winnie and Sadu). The setting of WIM has the comforts of “home” and it is a place we like to visit as we always feel welcome. Sometimes in life we get beautiful roses (Staff of WIM) to make the thorns (mom’s Alzheimer’s) easier to deal with. This is how we would describe our incredibly good fortune to have found and selected CHSLD WIM to care for our mom. We are impressed with the staff/resident ratio, the home-like facility, no “a-la-carte” charges, organized activities including activities outdoors and a staff that interacts with the residents on a personal basis. Our heartfelt thank you to to Winnie and Sadu (both amazing PABs), Laura & Glenn (amazing reception), Bindy, the dynamic nursing staff, administrative staff (God bless Push, Anabelle and Miriam) and the culinary team – meals are plentiful, delicious and well-served. I went to this resident to visit a family member and I was very disappointed to see that the woman in the front is not friendly, I think her name is Laura, she’s Rude and condescending. She does not deserve to work in a Senior Home. I would definitely think twice before placing my family in that CHSLD.

We love Manoir de L'Ouest, my mother-in-law transferred there from bouncing around from Lake Shore hospital, St. Anne's for rehab, back to Lake Shore Hospital, then to the Lasalle hospital for rehab and in a transit bed for 8 months. We are so happy she is finally settled down, everyone there is so nice to her and us. Although she likes to keep to herself, she is always being checked on by the super friendly staff. Thank you everyone.

As a family we are very pleased with the care and commitment that is shown to the residents. The staff are dedicated professionals , Family is always welcomed questions are answered this creates an environment peace of mind for all .

They sell you this great place, but when you get there it is a different story. The staff doesn't care. I once watched a woman call for help for 45 minutes and the nurses aid told her to wait. In that time I heard her yell "I'm in pain", "what is the matter with you people", "nobody cares". Often I sat with my dad and only saw a nurses aid occasionally and even then they blew off the patient. One day I walked into the dinner room to tell the staff we were leaving and all the residents were sitting eating and there with not one staff member around. What would happen if they choked? The administration has no idea how useless their staff is. Please never send your love one there. I wish I could give a negative number. somebody needs to investigate this place
