I can’t say anything about these other reviews except to say they go completely against our own family experience with our mother. Our mother has been a resident for about a year and a half. She loves the place and so does every other resident I talk to - and I talk to a lot of them - every time I go. The staff is incredibly friendly. And I have seen very little turnover in the year and a half. All 6 of the original caregivers on my mother’s floor are still there over a year later. Same for the medical team, kitchen and cleaning staff. The food is excellent quality and bountiful. I frequently visit my mother at mealtime and I am constantly impressed with the care and variety that goes into its preparation. Not only that, but if they are serving something you don’t like, the chef with prepare you one of many alternatives (salads, sandwiches, omelettes, bacon and eggs. french fries). On holidays they bring in a guest chef and encourage family to attend. These are completely original menus of excellent quality and create a very festive environment usually with decorations, flowers, music and non alcoholic beer and champagne. Our mother’s room like all the others is very large, big enough for a queen bed, full living room, diner and dressing area. The floors are hardwood and the entire place is impeccably cleaned and maintained. There are two full time handymen and 7days a week cleaning. Whenever I call, staff knows exactly who my mother is and when I talk to the medical team they are always fully up to date on how my mother is doing and feeling. But more than anything, the best feedback comes directly from our mother who tells me every single time I visit what a nice place it is and how well she is treated. It’s a joy to visit her here and gift to know she is so happy and well treated. Un gros merci à toute l’équipe, vous êtes formidables! PS: Go to the Chateau Vincent d’Indy Facebook page if you want to get better feel for the place.

My friend went to stay at the Château Vincent d'Indy, a seniors' residence. It was for convalescence after surgery. The rental manager gave her the following contract: 1) Accommodation for 14 days - The lights stayed on at night while she slept, especially for the first 3 days. - The first 3 or 4 days, the heating was very low, and she had to complain several times. They gave her a blanket and changed the thermostat. - Her door was always locked; she couldn't unlock it when she had visitors. - The door number was only installed 2 days before her departure. - They had to put a cardboard box behind the headboard of the bed so she wouldn't move around too much. - They also had to install a safety bar for her bed so she could get up. - They also had to install a raised toilet seat with armrests. - She didn't have an overbed table with wheels, so she had to bring a portable overbed table. 2) Full housekeeping once a week and a refresher six times a week - A major cleaning was done once, and the refreshments took about 10 minutes. You had to ask for extra towels; the housekeeper used them, soiled, to wipe the toilet and bathroom sink. 3) Three meals and one snack per day - She received her three meals a day for the most part, but no snacks. The day before she left, a woman came to give her a semblance of a snack around 3:15 a.m. An unwrapped piece of cheese with half a glass of juice. It looked like leftovers. Some of her meals left something to be desired. You would have had to be hungry to swallow these mediocre meals. 4) One shower per week - She received one shower per week with assistance. However, she had to get angry to get it. 5) Medication 3 times a day - She received no help taking her medication. 6) Help getting dressed and going to bed - She received no help even though she should have since she had a large dressing on her foot. 7) Hygiene and incontinence care - She received no hygiene care other than showering. 8) Bedding once a week - The bed was changed once in 14 days. She was given ice in a leaky Ziploc bag, and the bed was wet. She had to put a towel over the wet sheet. 9) Activities and leisure activities - None were suggested. She had a TV that only worked for the last few days, even though she asked them to fix it. - She only got the internet connection for her iPad and cell phone after the fifth day. All for $2,400. The rental manager told her the place was ideal for convalescence, but it wasn't for major foot surgery. She was told she was too demanding. I don't recommend this place at all; it was a nightmare for her.

Not very impressed for the price. I have the impression that some of the hygiene products I provided for my mother (more than for the duration of her stay) weren't returned to her. Very poorly equipped for the care of someone with cognitive and autonomy loss. These places are in it for the profits, not the residents. The rental representative blamed my mother for the loss of two potential residents. I found my mother in a terrible state: edema on her feet; poor hygiene; several sores on her body; she had contracted a virus, etc. I had a terrible time reaching my mother during her stay. Her mittens were missing. I tried several times to contact the general manager, but she never returned my calls. Avoid this place like the plague.

The quality of the meals is disappointing and the quantity insufficient. Constant staff turnover means there's no follow-up on requests. Clothing is lost by the cleaning service, and it's impossible to track it. It seems that all the services offered are declining.
